Set Description and Contents:
Discover the impact of the photograph on art. Each artist in this set incorporates photographs in his or her work, using it not as a final image in and of itself, but as inspiration. The ways in which each artist uses photography varies, although the realism of the work remains central. Coming out of the popularity of abstraction, beginning in the 1960s these artists returned to figural subjects through new interpretations of what is real and what is only in the mind.
