Yamaguchi, Takeo (Korea, b.1902)
Yamaguchi, who studied in Europe and lived in Japan, is noted for his paintings of abstract shapes, often derived from Japanese hieroglyphics and enlarged on a solid colored background. Yamaguchi's work inspired other Japanese artists to explore Abstract art.

Young, Mahonri (United States, 1877-1957)
Young studied sculpture in the United States and in Paris where he first became recognized. His sculptures of workmen, cowboys, horses, and prize fighters won many awards. He is also well known for a large commemorative sculpture of his Mormon heritage, and for a portrait of his grandfather, Brigham Young.
