Frank Juárez is an award-winning art educator, artist, publisher, art coach, and former gallery director living and working in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Frank brings more than twenty years of art education and arts management experience, organizing local and regional art exhibitions and community art events, presenting on art education at the local and national levels, and supporting artists through grant programs and professional development workshops. This has placed him at the forefront of promoting Wisconsin artists and networking with regional and national artists to collaborate and exhibit in Wisconsin.
Frank is actively involved in the Wisconsin Art Education Association, the National Art Education Association, and the National Art Education Foundation. He has served as a board member for the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network, Create Wisconsin (formerly Arts Wisconsin), and the Cedarburg Cultural Center. He has presented at local universities, colleges, galleries, and to artist groups on Professional Development for Artists: Business of Art Practices. He also founded two projects focused on contemporary art and art education: the Midwest Artist Studios Project and the 365 Artists 365 Days Project.
Frank has received numerous accolades for his dedication to art education. In 2015, he was named the Wisconsin Art Education Association Teacher of the Year. In 2016, he was named the National Art Education Association Wisconsin Art Educator of the Year. In 2018, he was elected to serve on the National Art Education Foundation Board of Trustees and the recipient of the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellowship. In 2019, he was the recipient of the National Secondary Art Educator Award. In 2021, he joined the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass Board of Directors. In 2022, he was the recipient of the Wisconsin Visual Art Achievement Award for K-12 Art Education, elected as the National Art Education Foundation communications chair, and selected as a National Art Education Association Connected Arts Network national teacher leader. In 2023, Frank was awarded the Carroll University 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement: Bachelor of Arts & Sciences. Recently, he was elected to serve as the National Art Education Foundation vice-chair.
Frank is currently the art department chair at Sheboygan North High School, the publisher of Artdose magazine, and the editor-in-chief of SchoolArts magazine.
