Donna Anderson has an MS in Art Education from the University of Tennessee, where she studied printmaking with Byron McKeeby. Her undergraduate work was done at Middle Tennessee State University with printmaker Larry Brooks. As an art teacher in Knox County Schools for more than 40 years, she covered all types of printmaking in her classes.
She has won numerous awards including Knox County Teacher of the Year for 1997, Tennessee Art Educator of the Year for 2003, National Secondary Art Educator for 2008, Tennessee Art Education Association Distinguished Service within the Profession Award for 2019, Joe W. Giles Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019, and Tennessee Art Education Association Emeritus Art Educator of the Year for 2022. She has traveled to Japan as a Fulbright Memorial Teacher Scholar and as a Fulbright Scholar to Egypt and Israel. She served as president of the Tennessee Art Education Association from 2013 to 2015. She continues to teach printmaking at the Knoxville Museum of Art in Knoxville, TN.
Anderson is the author of Experience Printmaking, published by Davis Publications.
